Muscular Dystrophy Daycare (PPEC)

Medical Daycare for Children with Muscular Dystrophy

Single Condition Image

Angels on Earth offers prescribed pediatric extended care (PPEC) and medical day care for children with muscular dystrophy. This form of dystrophy causes loss of muscle tone, weakness, and physical abnormalities. Muscular dystrophy often results in difficulty walking and standing, clumsiness, falling, respiratory complications, learning disabilities, scoliosis, and behavioral problems.

Our PPEC facility provides a wide range of supportive services for children with muscular dystrophy including skilled nursing, developmental therapies, assistive equipment, medication administration, educational programs, and therapeutic play. Dystrophy patients benefit from corrective physical therapy or occupational therapy plans that help improve movement capabilities, manage pain, and maximize independence.

We provide 12-hour medical day care 6 days a week and are covered by Medicaid. We make it our mission to provide quality care, emotional support, and a fun environment for special needs children enrolled in our Orlando PPEC and Haines City PPEC. Our staff is multi-lingual with fluency in English, Spanish and Creole to better accommodate more patients and families.
