JOB SUMMARY:
Angels on Earth PPEC is a growing organization that provides support to families of children from birth to twenty-one years of age with disabilities or special developmental needs, helping them to build on their child’s strengths, and to enhance and promote the child’s growth and development in our Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care in providing evaluations, assessments, and ongoing therapy for our children.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides services in accordance with the plan of care.
  • Provides those services requiring substantial specialized nursing skills.
  • Initiates appropriate preventative and nursing procedures.
  • Informs personnel of changes in the condition and needs of the patient.
  • Counsels with the patient and family in meeting nursing and related needs.
  • Participates in and presents in service programs.
  • Processes orders and notifies physician of patient needs and changes in condition.
  • Completes comprehensive assessments within forty-eight (48) hours.
  • Completes certification/recertification orders as specified in policy.
  • Implements and documents in nursing notes actions/interventions as outlined in the plan of care.
  • Determines the amount and type of nursing needed for the patient.
  • Initiates individualized care plans based on admission assessment and physician orders according to Center policy.
  • Involves the patient/family in developing the plan of care.
  • Reviews, evaluates, and updates the care plan based upon assessments.
  • Prepares discharge summaries which reflect the care provided and outcomes.
  • Refers to PT, OT, SLP, and MSW those patients requiring their specialized skills.
  • Supervises and teaches other nursing personnel.
  • Provides appropriate information regarding the patient to other agencies/individuals involved in the patient’s care.
  • Directs and supervises performance of LPN as specified, and reports findings as appropriate.
  • Provides total patient care as needed.
  • Obtains knowledge and supervised practice of new skills.
  • Observes confidentiality, safeguards all patient-related information.
  • Attends staff meetings and patient care conferences as scheduled.
  • Completes documentation and paperwork in a timely manner per Center policy.
  • Immediately reports to DON any patient incidents/variances or complaints.
  • Demonstrated competent performance of technical skills according to established procedures.
  • Participates in peer review and PI activities as requested.
  • Participates in utilization review of medical records as assigned.
  • Understands and adheres to established policies/procedures.
  • Adheres to Center standards and consistently interprets and accurately performs all assigned responsibilities.
  • Maintains acceptable attendance status, per Center policy.
  • Maintains acceptable level of tardiness, per Center policy.
  • Reports all incomplete work assignments to DON.
  • Appearance is always within Center standard; is clean and well-groomed.
  • Participates in in-service programs and presents in services as assigned.
  • Maintains clean and neat work environment.
  • Demonstrates sound judgement and decision making.
  • Maintains current CPR certification, if required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Two or more years of pediatric experience.
  • Valid Florida DOH Registered Nurse License.
  • At least six months experience caring for medically or technologically dependent children.

JOB SUMMARY:
Certified Nursing Assistant is a paraprofessional person who is specifically trained and competent to perform assigned functions of personal care to Angels on Earth PPEC center individuals under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Such care is provided in accordance with all professional, state, and federal requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understands and adheres to established Center policies and procedures.
  • Performs personal care as ordered.
  • Report changes in patient’s condition and needs to RN.
  • Performs simple procedures as an extension of the therapy services, e.g., range of motion (ROM) exercises as assigned.
  • Assists with medications as assigned.
  • Attends in-service and continuing education programs as scheduled and necessary.
  • Attends patient care conferences as scheduled.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Florida Certified Nursing Assistant License.
  • One year of pediatric experience.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Satisfactory criminal background check.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have transportation to arrive on time to the Center.
  • Ability to stand, lift, or assist in lifting the individual for skilled nursing care, feeding, changing, bathing, and emergency response.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, and generally demonstrate flexibility to meet the care needs of the individual.
  • Must be able to see with visual and listen with hearing acuity to appropriately monitor the individual and associated medical equipment.
  • Must have strength and manual dexterity, including grasping and manipulating small objects, to operate medical equipment appropriately.
  • Must be capable of responding to emergency situations.

  • Meet all prescribed professional requirements and rules of professional conduct as a Physical Therapist, including applicable licensure.
  • Candidates must pass background clearance.
  • CPR certified.
  • One year of pediatric experience.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus but not required

A Pediatric Physical Therapist that loves working with children that embeds patience, flexibility, ingenuity, creativity, and imagination for adapting activities to meet each child or families’ individual needs. The pediatric physical therapist must possess strong interpersonal skills for interaction with children, family, and team members.

JOB SUMMARY:
Angels on Earth PPEC is currently looking for an EMT to be an escort for medically fragile children in a non-emergent transportation situation on our bus. Candidates should be energetic and detail oriented and able to monitor our individuals in a safe and secure manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current EMT license in the State of Florida
  • Current CPR
  • One year of pediatric experience.
  • Identifying emergent medical situation and responding appropriately
  • Assuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are transported with the child
  • Demonstrating basic medical procedures that may be required during transportation route such as suctioning, vitals, trach replacement
  • Being alert to safety and well-being of children throughout transportation
  • Follow all confidentiality rules as well as conforming to the law if signs of suspected abuse or neglect are apparent
  • Interacting with children in a loving, positive and consistent manner

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have one year pediatric experience working with infants and toddlers.
